Description
Vehicle story
The base vehicle was a Defender 110 Station, built in 2016. The standard equipment: 6-speed manual transmission with off-road reduction, DPF, center differential lock, 4-channel ABS incl. ETC, DSC, halogen headlights, rear mud flaps and side running boards. In addition to an elaborate paint job in the original Tangier Orange colour, the Defender was equipped with the G4 safety bar, which was developed specifically for the Challenge vehicles at the time. The bar is connected to the chassis at two points at the front under the fenders, frames the windscreen and protects the roof area via the driver and front passenger. It ends above the B-pillar and is supported there in the roof panel. There are brackets for roof lights on the front frame and this was used to mount separately switchable, very powerful Hella high beam headlights (Luminator 170).
The "Expedition" roof rack has been equipped with sand plates, a Hi-Lift jack and a Hella work light (140 mm). In order to sail without any problems even in dusty environments or deep waters, a raised air intake with cyclone filter was installed. Together with the Winch Kit Challenge (towing capacity 5.4 t), the front and rear lamp guards, the Air Ducts, the flank protection with protective tube and the frame end carrier reinforcement, the vehicle can be used for any expedition!
But that's not all: the adaptive Competition Kit shock absorber system and the 50 mm lift kit, namely the Suspension Kit, as well as the stabilizing light alloy wheel spacers were indispensable and not just a practical necessity.
To ensure that the interior is not neglected, which is what the Matzker Rallye Set installs: the suede 360 mm Matzker rally sports steering wheel with adapter hub and the matching gear knob set were chosen to be visually timelessly beautiful and haptically perfect. The standardised pedals were replaced by a light-alloy pedal set with Matzker embossing.
The mounted 255/85R16 Toyo Open Country wheelset on the matt black Boost alloy rim, as well as matt black painted mudguards for fenders, radiator grille and wheel arches round off the picture of the Matzker G4 Defender perfectly.
